IESS made thoughtful arrangements to welcome Professor Trần Thanh Vân and his wife, expressing its appreciation for his contributions to connecting the scientific community, promoting international cooperation, and advancing science and education in Vietnam. The meeting also provided an opportunity for both sides to exchange ideas, deepen mutual understanding and discuss shared interests.

During the meeting, IESS and ICISE discussed a prospective programme of joint activities drawing on their respective capabilities, strengths and complementary expertise. Discussions focused on connecting IESS’s economic research and strategic advisory capabilities with ICISE’s strengths in bringing together expert networks, facilitating scientific exchange and promoting interdisciplinary cooperation. These discussions laid the groundwork for developing practical and feasible areas of collaboration.
A key part of the meeting was a review of cooperation in organising the “Quy Nhon Dialogue on Climate Change and Transitions.” ICISE highly valued IESS’s role and support, recognising the Institute’s contributions to the success of the event. This successful collaboration helped strengthen mutual trust and provided a foundation for further joint activities.
IESS welcomed ICISE’s recognition and viewed the results achieved as an incentive to continue supporting academic exchange and dialogue on development issues. Bringing together economic, scientific and interdisciplinary perspectives is expected to open up further opportunities for meaningful cooperation.
The visit and working session concluded successfully, reflecting the constructive spirit of cooperation between IESS and ICISE. Building on their established relationship, the two institutions will continue discussions to translate their shared intentions into concrete activities, drawing on their respective strengths and contributing to common development goals.
